Trinado black and bronze oxide 135 degree split point drill bits are used for drilling into hard metals such as cast steel and iron. The 135 degree split point angle allows the drill bit to penetrate the material faster and more easily than a standard 118 degree point. Here are some other things to consider:

Split point drill bits are good for hand drilling, especially on round materials like pipes and conduit. Their narrow chisel and extra cutting edges help prevent walking and make it easy to start a hole accurately. Black oxide drill bits are effective for drilling on curved surfaces and require less effort to drill through metal, wood, and PVC.
Bronze oxide- This coating increases the tempering and stress relieving of the bit. It can also be used to identify cobalt steel or high speed steel grades.
